Shop by Room

Shopping for blinds can be difficult due to all the different blind types available. The choice can be a bit overwhelming. We have put together a Shop By Room feature where you can follow the links below and receive recommendations on the best blind types for the room you are shopping for.

This is a great feature to use as it ensures the blind type that you opt for is suitable for the room in question and will last longer due to being installed in conditions it is designed for. For example we would not recommend using a Real Wood Venetian blind in a bathroom due to the excess humidity which can cause problems in a natural material such as wood. In a bathroom you need a blind that can easily withstand steam and moisture. If you are shopping for a bathroom click on the Bathroom & Kitchen link below for a list of blind types most suitable for those conditions.

Please note once you have selected the best blind type for your room we still recommend that you make use of the free sampling service prior to making your purchase. You will still need to ensure you are happy with your final colour choice. We recommend up to 10 free samples to help you find your ideal colour. In the unlikely event that you still have not found the colour that is best for you after receiving your samples email us with your requirements and we will look through our sample books and select some further samples with your criteria in mind.

Whatever range you purchase from be assured that all of our blinds;

  • Are fully bespoke in accordance with the specifications you input on our website.
  • Come with 5 year guarantee (1 year for the whole blind and a further 4 years for components)
  • Are manufactured in the UK (with the exception of our Z-Lite Roller, Prime Roller and Timberlux ranges. These ranges are made on Mainland Europe and are clearly labelled so you know where all your goods originate from prior to making your purchase).
  • Arrive with child safety hooks or cleats to secure dangling chains.
  • Are fully insured when dispatched so if any loss or damage occurs with the courier during transit you are covered in the event a replacement or repair is required.
  • Are manufactured in factories that have years of experience in blind making.
  • Are made from components and materials are fully tested to ensure that they will operate and endure as you would expect with normal and correct usage.

If you have any further questions in relation to your installation or if your room type is not covered in the list below just get in touch and will be happy to provide further guidance and advice. Happy shopping!

Bedroom

We recommend blackout fabrics for bedrooms. Blackout fabrics allow for more privacy at night when the light is on in the room and it is dark outside. It also blocks more light from coming into the room during the day or during the evening if you have street lights outside.

Please remember when ordering a blackout fabric this means no light will come through the fabric itself but there will be light leakage at points the fabric itself does not cover. Please read our blog post on Blackout fabrics to ensure you get the best blackout solution for your room.

Bathroom & Kitchen

When selecting a blind for these rooms you need to select blind types that will not be impacted by moisture. You also need to consider reaching the controls to raise and lower the blinds if you have a work surface in front of the window (Perfect fit blinds may not be suitable in these cases depending on your reach).

Conservatory

Conservatories tend to experience extremes in temperature. The best blinds to opt for are ones that help to reduce extreme heat so you can comfortably enjoy this room. Also you need to consider the large area you need to cover so a cost effective product might also be a factor in your deliberations.

Lounge & Dining Room

You can pretty much use any blind you like in these rooms. It is all about personal preference in terms of your décor and your personal requirements. Consider the following factors when deciding the best blind type for these rooms;

  1. where the rooms are located in relation to how much privacy the blinds need to provide (is the room at the front or back of property, overlooked by neighbours, near a main road etc).
  2. the type of windows you have and number of windows in the rooms (this will impact the blind type you can have in some cases and the cost).
  3. your budget and the amount you are willing to spend on your blinds.
  4. the amount of natural light the room gets.
  5. how and when you use the room (mainly in evenings when it is dark, during the day to watch tv etc).
  6. who uses the room (eg just adults or pets and/or children)

Business Premises

For these kind of properties you firstly want to ensure you meet any Fire Safety Regulations. You also want a hard wearing, cost effective product that will last.

Kids Bedroom

The most important factors when looking at a blind for a child’s room are; child safety, longevity, and light blocking to help them with nap times and those bright summer mornings/evenings.

Home Office

Light control and glare reduction are important factors here as well as privacy and security.
